MNN was founded in January 2002 in the United Baronies of Treesia (now part of the Imperium Incognita) as a forum-based news service, which evolved into the extensive Micronations.Net site. In 2004 the format changed to that of a news aggregator, taking advantage (and further encouraging the increasing use) of micronational blogs.
MNN currently shows the news from 12 micronational blogs and 3 Google searches (including 1 video search), so there is plenty of scope for additional micronations to join in with their own blogs, or assign correspondents to one of the 3 multimicronational blogs (Apollo Fireball V, Intermicronational News Service, and Millennium News).
