The Spanish Inquisition Say:
It's all new in Gralus. We've got a new citizen (welcome Aurora!) who has now become our first new student in MANA in over a year. There's an all new, improved everything-store in town (pick up your sonic screwdrivers here, boys, you've got an awful lot of running to do) courtesy of VBNC, and a new DZ game, courtesy of Fides.

There's new ideas for reform, and new members in the SCUE (welcome Antica). But most of all there are new visitors from beyond the stars. Let's hope they don't start a new war.

New Improved Gralus, now with 10% more sass.

"Status report on the canisters chemical load-out?" Z inquired while Amara helped him into a skintight combat suit. He had just put on the synthesizing layer, and was now sliding into the next, while Amara held the contoured pack in her hands.

"Computer layout reads them at being 87% maximum capacity, Sir." Kyra said. "The eight Corvus's you requested for modification have been re-tasked as per schedule. The mobile laboratories are ready as well. All that remains is for the chemical canisters to finish being loaded with seratonin."

"Excelle..." Z was cut off as the suit suddenly lit up and sealed itself around his body. The vein like lines that ran down each limb glowed red for a second, then died out. "Huh." Z finished, admiring the now jet black suit. Every part of his body was covered except his chin to the base of his cranium. "That's good." Z said again, twisting his wrists and rotating his shoulders to test the suits flexibility. Everything checked out so far.

"How is the Prototype XK-II suit sir?" Kyra inquired, as Amara fitted the pack onto Z's back. The book sized pack fit perfectly into a slotted section of the suit, and it blended flawlessly with the rest of it.

"Good so far." Z replied. "Thank you dear," he then said to Amara, who smiled back at him.

"This Dr.Tamara..." She said, turning Z around to make sure everything was on right "What kind of work do you think she did?"

"I can only speculate." Z replied, running his hands through Amara's hair. "But I hope nothing comes of it. I want nothing more than to go there and find only rubble."

"Be careful, Z." She said, worry in her eyes.

"I will dear." Z said, leaning in to kiss her.

His wrist brushed against his side as he reached up, and a soft beep was heard.

Z's entire body then went invisible. The only thing showing was his face, and Amara fell back laughing.

"What." Z said, unaware that he was no longer visible. He crossed his arms, and L looked over at him, to show himself what a sight he was.

"Oh..." he said, chuckling. Pressing a button, the suit deactivated and he re-appeared. "At least we know it works." He said, a bit embarrassed.

Grabbing his coat and throwing it over him, Z grabbed Creed and D'ryn and donned his hat. Amara was still laughing, now in a comfy armchair.

"Off to finalize this whole Operation Round Up..." Z said, leaving the room, shaking his head.

-------------------------------

Casa stood in the hangar with twelve other Killroys. She had just finished briefing them on their mission, and they were suiting up. They all had the new XK-II prototype suits; which were still in development, but they figured could be used for this mission in the field. Once they were suited up, they gathered their weapons and made sure they were in working order, attaching silencers to the ends of them, and making sure the surfaces didn't shine.

Meanwhile, Spider-bots were overseeing the chemical canisters, which were now filled. They were loading them into Corvus's, being careful not to drop or damage them in any way. Once inside, they were harnessed to the floors, to ensure no rough movements. The mobile labs were being placed in large metal crates, which were in turn attached to the heavy lifting Corvus' gunships. Several other Corvus's had metal crates being attached to their magnetic clamps; the crates held the tanks which were full of water.

Nodding as she watched her men, Casa made sure the Black Ops corvus was set, and then turned around, finding herself face to face with Commander Z.

"Sir." She said, saluting.

"Commander Casa." Z said with a nod. "I assume everything is ready?"

"That is correct." Casa said, gesturing to the activity on the far side of the hangar. She looked at the black part of the suit that was just visible under Z's chin. "All set for your mission sir?"

"Quite." He replied, looking slightly grim. "Im glad to have the Killroys to back me up. I wouldnt want it any other way."

"Thank you sir." Casa said, pleased at the compliment.

Z nodded again. "Now if you will excuse me, I have to go make sure Commander Brakk knows what to do."

-----------------------------------

"Understood, sir." Brakk said, reading over the orders once more. "You can leave everything to me."

"Thank you." Z said. "In that case, I must get going. My window of opportunity is shrinking as it is."

With that, Z turned and left the briefing room, heading down to the hangar.

Summary: Yeah its long. Deal.

Im doing this as an advance move because i dont want to stay up until 2am. Basically, when 2AM rolls around, my units go into action. First, My heavy lifting Corvus's and Corona transports move out and deploy 15 separate labs, doors open, and the remote controls inside the Triton. Then the Corvus's with the Chemical Canisters move out, and put 2 canisters in ten of the labs, and five in the other five. The Labs are put within a mile proximity of the locust swarms. Once everything is set up and the canisters are inside the labs, they begin pumping their contents, Seratonin, into the air (The labs also have the canisters in the slots, the canisters are filled with enough water to flood the entire lab). Periodically, the seratonin is fanned out of the facility and into the air. Locusts naturally swarm and gather in groups due to Seratonin being released into their nervous system, causing mutual attraction. Since large quantities of seratonin are being released into the air, the locusts will naturally flock to the large sources. Once inside, and a majority of the swarms are there inside, the doors will seal shut, and water will flood the labs, drowning the locusts. There are 15 labs, and they are all placed in proximity to the locust swarms. Not all of the locusts will obviously get inside, so Dragonfly gunships and the Corvus gunships will pick off any remaining locusts that remain outside with their weaponry.

Otherwise, this should get rid of the majority of the locusts. This all happens in about an hour and fifteen minuets. Ill be on tomorrow, so if any debates come up, and you may respond after this event occurs, i shall respond accordingly.

Toodles. :salute:

Oh yeah, after this all happens, Z will go do stuff. That stuff will be in the other topic, The Humanity...

While the warlords delayed and ummed and ahhed about how best to deal with the crisis, the Fiery Demonic Man Eating Locust Swarms continued their ravaging of Gralus. Across Magna Novatainia fields were ablaze and towns and cities were blackened with ash. Eastward, in Toketi, the fields of Grot Kesh were reduced to cinders and towns like Hamuji and Dekinai looked closer to how Cride had looked after the demon war; than the thriving and unburnt metropolises they had been before.

But this morning, the buzzing of the locusts was particularly loud. They were still, largely, in three main swarms. And separately, each swarm had found something interesting. A pleasant smell in the air ... a smell that suggested the other swarms were close, and there was an almighty feeding going on. Eagerly they flew towards it, and ended up inside these buildings. There were other locusts in here - it must be the swarm? Locusts brains are not too good, even demonic ones, and too late did the hive mind realise that light was decreasing as the door had been closed. And then there was the rush of water ....

An hour later, the CAA came and opened the doors. The water flooded out, and with it, the bodies of various drowned locusts. Not all had gone in, of course. But the vast majority had drowned within the flood of water.

Summary: The vast majority of locusts are destroyed, and those who remain are no longer swarming as there are so few of them. By the time they were destroyed, however, much of Magna Novatainia and Grot Kesh has been damaged.

Brakk stood on the bridge of the Triton, reading over the final reports on Operation Round Up.

Things had gone exactly as Z had ordained, and the Locust swarms were destroyed.

Yet, large portions of Novatainia were now ruined, and even sections of the Grot Kesh area had been reduced to cinder.

Brakk sighed. The damage had to range in the millions of gelt. Massive agrigultural reforms would need to be enstated and intense landscaping would have to happen in order to return the land to a state that resembled what it had been before.

Once all of the equipment had been recovered, and several locust corpses had been detained by the on-board research team, the massive ship had set off once again. Moving South West, the Triton, supported by the Orion's, had one destination in mind.

The Ocean Palace. And with it, Al' Magroth.

Re: And all Hell breaks loose

this happens really like a day or two ago, i just never had time to write it up. not that it matters, it's just my excuse to get to the Ocean Palace.

One of the officers on the bridge of the Triton turned to Z. "We're picking up five incoming helicopters," she said.

"Enemy?"

"I don't think so, sir, they seem to match the notice we got earlier from Commander Clark at the COMM station."

Z nodded. Gerk's choppers had been expected to arrive right about now. "Drop the cloaking field, and open up a channel with docking instructions."

The Triton slowly became visible once more in the vast sky, and the helicopters, now able to see it, adjusted their course to head directly for it. They reached the underside, and the massive hangar doors began to open. The helicopters rose up into the Triton, like a group of flies being sucked up by a massive vacuum cleaner, only much slower. The hangar officials waved them to a landing pad, and the helicopters touched down. Z was already there, waiting, as the rotors slowed and the doors opened, soldiers pouring out. Rafel, followed by Gerk, were the last two men to step from the center helicopter. Gerk greeted Z warmly. "Good to see you again, though I wish it were under better circumstances. I don't believe you've met Rafel, my associate and right hand general." The two shook hands while Gerk turned back to the helicopters and signaled his men.

"What's with the large traveling group?" asked Z, as the soldiers began to pile back into four of the helicopters, and their rotors began to pick up speed once again.

"An important government official such as myself has to travel with a posse," explained Gerk. "Especially after what happened at Tempestad."

Z nodded, and watched the four helicopters leave through the hangar doors, which then began to close. He knew that once they were clear, the cloaking field would once again activate and the ship would become invisible. "So," he began, "What's next?"

Gerk answered, "I believe we have a dark lord to seek out and destroy..."

Gerk, Rafel, and one chopper are now aboard the Triton. or rather, have been for the past few days.
